Black Maternal
Mental Health Week
BMMHW was founded by Kay Matthews in 2018. It is a Black women-led cross-sectoral alliance dedicated to ensuring that Black birthing individuals have the rights, respect, and resources to thrive before, during, and after pregnancy. The week-long events consists of their in-person INSPIRE training session, a two-day summit, a community awards brunch, a walk and family fun day, and ends with a State of Black Maternal Mental Health Roundtable
